Spring Break

For spring break this year, we made a trip down to Houston to visit my family.  Clint was flying to Brazil for a scouting trip, so anytime I can get an extra set of hands to help with the kids, I am all for it!!

On of the things I wanted to make sure that we did was get Ra's hair cut for the first time.  I wanted Tammy to cut her hair...she cut mine while we lived in Houston, and she is the sweetest thing ever!!

Clint was in Brazil "roughing it" for his pre-trip.  They stayed on the boats we will stay on when we take High School kids there this summer...I can't wait to go!!

The rest of the week we spent hanging out with Mimi and Pop.  It was good for the kids to spend some quality time with my parents.  They always love being with both sets of their grandparents!!

We had a great time at my parents house, but I just have to share a story with you.  We were on our way home to Dallas from Houston, which is a pretty far drive, which means you sometimes you have to stop quite a bit with kids.  We were taking a break and Raleigh and I were eating a snack while waiting for Thad to finish his bottle. She noticed that there was a homeless man in the store also who had no food. She went on her own and gave him her French fries. He told her "thank you and God bless you." To that she replied, "you know God like me?? That is awesome!!!" She melts my heart with her ability to read people, but also her intentionality to take care of others.  I pray that she will always keep this quality.

Happy Birthday Clint

These two cuties want to wish their favorite man with facial hair a HaPpy BIrtHdAy!!!

For Clint's birthday, we celebrated by doing all of dad's favorites...eating at his favorite restaurant, shopping at his favorite stores, and watching ESPN all day!!  We are so lucky to have such a wonderful dad and husband in our lives.  I am so blessed everyday by how much you give to me and our kids.  We hope your birthday was wonderful!!

We also had a birthday lunch with the staff....and had to have cake of course!!!  Thanks to Melody for making his cake.  It is the app for the game temple run.  What can I say, we always keep in interesting in the Ivy family! Ha!!

Gap Kids

Nothing much to say, but aren't these kids PRECIOUS!!!  I think they are cute enough to be in a GAP commercial...maybe I am a little bit biased!!

The Heaven Phone

We have been going through all of the items we collected from GranGran's house.  Some of it is for us and some of it is for Clint's parents.  As we are still adjusting to GranGran being gone and Raleigh grasping what that means, Raleigh has been talking a lot about on the "heaven phone."  On her own doing, she kept going into a room and talking on a phone (that was Clint's grandmother's that we are keeping for Cindy).  When I asked her what she was doing she replied, "I am talking to heaven."  When we asked her to explain she said, "I am just talking to God and asking him about GranGran.  You know you can talk to God whenever you want, so I am just checking on GranGran."  At that moment I was so proud of her for having more understanding of who her God is, but I totally had to leave the room because I was crying uncontrollably.  We are so thankful that we have a God that hears us when we pray...even if it is on a special phone!!

Thaddaeus is 5 months old!!

 

My goodness how time flies!!  I can hardly believe that Thad is 5 months old.  This boy has completely captured our hearts.  He is the most laid back, go with the flow kid...such an opposite from his sister!!  At his 4 month checkup he did very well, even with his shots.  Here are his stats at 4 months...  Weight: 14lbs and 11oz (55%)  Height: 26 1/2 inches (99%)  Head: 17.5  (97%).  So to sum it up...he is going to be a tall skinny boy...sound familiar???  Clint keeps praying that God would make him 6'8.''...dear goodness, I can't even think about the size shoe someone that tall would wear?!?

You have always been so active, but you are becoming extremely mobile....if I had to guess, I would assume you are going to crawl in the next couple of weeks.  You move like a little worm to scoot across the floor, but your favorite way to move quickly is to roll across the room.  Firefighters would be proud! Ha!!  I have to admit you have gotten stuck under the couch a couple of times (which you think is hilarious) because you are getting so quick.  When you start crawling, I think we are going to be in big trouble!!

You are such a happy baby!!  The only time you ever get fussy is if your having a bad acid reflux day.  You have been known to growl when your sister comes in the room, but if someone stepped on me with their tap shoes, I think I might growl also!!  Other than that, you love to laugh and especially love Titus.  You have tried really hard to bite him, but have yet to succeed.

One of my favorite things is that you love people and love being around people...a trait you picked up from your dad!  You have a way to flash your sweet smile and get everyone to fall in love with you.  We only have to worry about the old ladies fighting over you in the nursery right now, thank goodness.  I love that your sister calls you "Little Man" and that you laugh when anyone calls you "Thad the warrior."  You have made our family more complete with your presence.  We have been blessed by you in the last 5 months "Little Man."

Raleigh is 3!!

It is hard to believe that my crazy girl is 3!!  It seems that only a couple of days ago she was making her grand entrance into the world...Raleigh style, of course!!  Many people say that you are a complete duplicate of me, I totally agree, but you are a one of a kind in our book!!  In this last year we have learned more about you.  We have learned that you are very funny, still over the top girly/dramatic and very smart.  Your vocabulary still somewhat amazes me...the things you say are so funny!  You have a nurturing spirit and are very intuitive of others' feelings around you...and of course, we LOVE your crazy hair!!  We went to the doctor and you are in the 50% for weight, and 90% for height.
